Many a times, I seriously think to
login in my blog site and pen down my thoughts (you see it's a trend
thing going around these days). Though it's not a bad thought! But it
requires serious brainstorming sessions just to put together your
views and opinion. On a normal day, random thoughts pop at any point
of time say: in the middle of the night, while commuting, amidst work
deadlines. But nothing actually materializes when I actually want
them to jot down. I admit I'm not pro in blogging (it may sound like
an excuse). Nevertheless, what's harm in sharing a piece of mind with
other like-minded? Whether you agree or disagree.
Just 4-5 months ago, a journalist
colleague of mine mailed me her URL to blog site. Man! I admire her
dedication. She religiously updates her blog site (as if it's a
ritual). Not to mention, I've seen her updating with pictures, quotes
with due credits, interesting anecdotes and sub-link to connect you
to another website for more info. Phew!! How does she manage to
update all these things on her blog site and ensure it is interactive
and reader-friendly?
I really doubt whether I could
continue writing a blog with same dedication! I just hope to login my
account on a day-to-day basis leave aside the regular updates (talk
of puns).
I was given a list of do's and don'ts
from a pro (my colleague) even before I announced my plans to write a
blog. Frankly, it needs a hell lot of preparations to think and
re-think on one particular subject and write some 500 words whereas
it hardly takes me a day or two to write a feature for my
publications. I'm puzzled…how could I manage to write my articles
and meet my deadline and not been able to write a blog on even a
simple topic?
Though I've opened an account some 2-3
years ago in blospot.com. Till date I hardly managed to scribble a
stanza (barring one poem that I posted when I logged in to the
account). After that I've never managed to write more than those 5-6
lines of my poem. Another fine example of my failed attempt to write
a blog was when I thought of writing on the recent terrorist attack
in Mumbai. I'd good newspaper clippings and some good pictures. All
I'd to do was login and write my opinions. But than when you write
for sensitive issues like this, you need to have fair idea on the
subject and give a valid point for your approval and disapproval. I
don't want to make a statement that may sound like a guest columnist
or think-tank of some premier institution giving expertise comment on
the subject.
But as I said earlier for people like
me, who just require reasons to avoid anything and everything under
the sun. Even to write this blog it took me good 2-3 weeks. In the
end, I was happy to see the end-product as it doesn't have to be
scanned by my editor's x-ray vision for all those silly grammatical
errors. I feel blogs are better stressors: you can vent your anger
out, speak your mind and share your views with other bloggers. Isn't
it great? All I hope is to login my account regularly like I do in
facebook (a social networking site) and if possible update them
regularly like my colleague.
